We specialize in seamlessly transitioning your systems from SQL Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, or 2014 to the latest SQL Server 2016 through cloud migration.
Please be advised that this process may involve some necessary downtime, however we are committed to minimizing any disruptions.
Our primary goal is to ensure the smooth migration of your SQL databases to Azure VM while upgrading your SQL Server to its newest version without any loss of data.
Our responsibilities include:
- Carefully backing up all SQL Server database files from the server to be upgraded, ensuring it is readily available for restoration, if needed.
- Conducting the necessary Database Console Commands (DBCC) on databases to verify its consistency prior to the upgrade.
- Temporarily disabling all startup stored procedures to prevent any potential interference during the upgrade process.
- Conducting a thorough database backup to an on-premises location as an added precaution.
- Setting up a virtual machine with the desired SQL Server version.
- Establish connectivity either over the Internet, or within the same virtual network.
- Transferring essential files to the VM to facilitate the migration.
- Configuring the new SQL Server installation to ensure seamless functionality post-upgrade.
- Furthermore, please note that certain aspects fall beyond the scope of this project and may incur additional costs. We provide a comprehensive project closeout report upon completion, detailing the project status, acceptance criteria met, outstanding issues, and the final budget. Should you require further documentation, this can be arranged for an extra fee.
- Tailoring the planning process to suit your specific needs, which may encompass a kick-off meeting, a thorough review of SQL Server and Windows Server configurations, deployment initiation, finalization of deployment, and resolution of any encountered issues.
